Take a look at how we translated A catalogue of audio equipment produced by JL Audio for yachts and cars We were approached by JL Audio, a dealer of audio equipment for luxury yachts and cars. The equipment is produced in America and Italy and sold in more than 15 countries worldwide.
The company used to do all translations in house, but the Russian distributor was not satisfied with the quality. People wouldn t buy their products, and the catalogues didn t do the job.
We offered to make the translation just as selling as the source text instead of simply doing word for word translation. This way, we would not just communicate the technical specifications of the products; we’d also help buyers see how those would improve their lives. The client agreed, and we set to work.
We worked really hard to ensure the catalogue efficiently does its main job: sells.
The challenge was to make the catalogue look lovely and easy and entertaining to read. If anyone got their hands on it, they shouldn t want to let it go, thanks to the thick, smooth paper that s nice to the touch and the light smell of high quality printing.
